About Andrea...

Andrea Clark - Horton is a mother, teacher, lawyer, minister and writer. She fell in love with words as a little girl, and it has indeed been a whirlwind, life-long love affair. Andrea is a firm believer that our stories have power to heal us individually and to help us heal one another.

Andrea currently works as a chaplain for a major healthcare system in the Chicago area, where her focus is women's health. She counsels, researches, preaches and writes to support and advocate for holistic health - healthy minds, healthy bodies and healthy spirits - especially for black women. Her passion is using story to transform the systems and narratives that impede black women's ability to lead holistically healthy lives.

She is a graduate of Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio where she received a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies with a minor in Women's Studies. She also holds a Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago and and a Master of Divinity from Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
